A one-night Paris stopover for a family with kids, built from real-time notes taken during the trip: a classic walking loop on arrival day, a morning along the Seine, then the TGV south. Times are local (Europe/Paris). Part of a larger Southern France trip — see Southern-France.md for the full itinerary.

Practical Tips

  • Kids + jet lag: the Day 1 loop is deliberately outdoor and unstructured — gardens and photo stops, no ticketed attractions until the evening cruise.
  • Cruise meeting point is not the tower — the GetYourGuide departure is at Paris Lounge, 38 Av. de la Bourdonnais, a short walk away.
  • TGV trains leave exactly on time — arrive on the platform 10+ min early; the departure board may show a different end-destination than your actual stop.
  • Le Train Bleu needs no booking far ahead for lunch, but go early (1:15 PM worked) to make a 2:42 PM train comfortably.
