I put together a Standard Operation Procedure book back in 2004 when I led a Machine Gun Platoon in the Marines and updated it over the years as our mission set adapted. There aren’t any national secrets in here — these were the foundational elements that guided our tactical operations. Our job as leaders was to build muscle memory so our Marines would react without hesitation and operate independently when communications went down, as they often did.
