# Things to see in Scotland
- The west coast of Scotland is the most scenic, similar to the west coast of Ireland
## Edinburgh
Here's a short list of things we did.
### Edinburgh Castle

Definitely get tickets ahead of time
The show they run most nights looked amazing. We didn't get to go but wished we did.
### Mary Kings Close

Great experience - worth it.
### Royal Yacht Britannia

Really fun way to spend a few hours. Bit of a trip there but it was pretty easy on public transit. Good restaurants nearby .
## Near Inverness
- [Loch Ness](https://maps.app.goo.gl/GdtKowYJ7Md7bMwU6)
- [Glenfinnan Viaduct](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Wkv3xSAZLGvsBKwu8)
Notes for A9
- Dunkeld just off A9 has some good places including theatre café there. Further north at Aviemore the Mountain Café in main street opposite Police Station is great. It is situated above an outdoor shop and has parking in front.
- Dunkeld or Pitlochry for stops after the Falkirk Wheel and I'm another fan of the Mountain Cafe in Aviemore.
