Synopsis

In this searing, funny, and deeply personal play by Joshua Harmon, a dying woman calls her grandson and makes a specific request: she asks him to write a play about their family, insisting, “Make it as bitter and vitriolic as possible.” The play follows this request, leading the playwright to recreate thirty years of family history.
