Synopsis
Sardines (a comedy about death) is a deeply personal and humorous one-man solo show written and performed by actor-comedian Chris Grace. Framed by the central question, “Can you enjoy something if you know how it ends?”, the show follows Grace as he shares stories about his life, family, and experiences with loss. He reflects on personal loss (the deaths of several close people including his brother, sister, parents, and partner of over a decade), complex family dynamics and estrangement due to his father’s struggle to accept his homosexuality, and reverse hide-and-seek (“Sardines”) as a metaphor for intimacy and finding one’s way to the present.
