Synopsis

Meet the Cartozians by Boston-born playwright Talene Monahon is a 2026 Pulitzer Prize finalist described as part riveting historical drama and part razor-sharp satire. Inspired by the real 1925 court case of Tartos Cartozian, an Armenian man who had his U.S. citizenship revoked, the play spans two eras: the 1920s legal fight for recognition, and a century later as a new generation navigates modern pop culture, influence, fame, and identity.
